Introducing the Inaugural Strawberry Point Scholarship Program, sponsored by Dairyland Power Cooperative

The City of Strawberry Point, Iowa has received a donation in the amount of $1,000 from Dairyland Power Cooperative for the purpose of supporting educational advancement within the community. The City hereby establishes the “Strawberry Point Community Scholarship Program Sponsored by Dairyland Power Cooperative” as an annual scholarship program.

• Applicants must reside within the corporate limits of the City of Strawberry Point and be a graduating high school senior or equivalent; and be accepted into an accredited post-secondary institution, including a college, university, trade school, or technical certification program.

• The scholarship shall consist of one annual award in the amount of $1,000, paid directly to the institution.

• Applicants shall be evaluated based on the following criteria: academic achievement, public service and community involvement, and a preference for applicants pursuing careers related to the energy industry.

• The final selection of the scholarship recipient shall be approved by majority vote of the City Council.
